Confessions of a JCPenney shopaholic

After a long hiatus I've decided to get back to writing this blog. Wow. So much has changed since my last post. I got married in June. Yay! We went to Jamaica for our honeymoon. I started a new job in August. I work in the lingerie department at JCPenney. I was holding out for the perfect job, one in the field that I got my college degree in, but my husband had to start paying back student loans so we didn't have much spending money to have fun with. My husband suggested that I work at JCP since I buy most of my clothing there anyway. It's nice though. I get to meet new people and it gives me a reason to get up and around in the morning instead of lazing around the house all day. I get a sweet discount of 20%. I also get to see our discounted merchandise first so I can get things really cheap. Jewelry for $.97 plus discount. Clothing for as low as $1.97 plus discount. It's insane how much shopping I've been doing but how little I've been spending.

Another wedding update

I'm back in Oklahoma cramming as much wedding stuff as I can. It's been a busy few days. When I was up here last during Christmas I booked a fabulous venue and found THE dress so the two biggest things are taken care of. Scratch that, finding the groom was the biggest thing. :)

My mom and I have been running all over Tulsa. We have bought stuff for the centerpieces, my wedding jewelry, and something I HAD to have for the cake table (it's a secret). We are about to place orders online for the flowers, favors, and bubble wand thingies for our departure. We have also scouted out several things that we are going to be buying in the next couple of days. Within a week we are going to be printing up our invitations that a friend made for us.

We have spent so much time planning and figuring exactly what I want and it's so cool to finally be buying them and seeing the wedding starting to come together.

The only thing about being away from home is I miss my fiance and dogs. :(

Florida Woman Calls 911 After McDonald's Runs Out of McNuggets

A Florida woman called 911 three times after she paid for a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets at a McDonald's but the fast-food restaurant ran out of them and refused to give her a refund.

Latreasa L. Goodman, 27, made the calls after she tried to get her money back from a Fort Pierce McDonald's and the cashier told her all sales were final. Police released the 911 tapes.

"This is an emergency. If I would have known they didn't have McNuggets, I wouldn't have given my money, and now she wants to give me a McDouble, but I don't want one," police quoted her as saying. "This is an emergency."

The cashier suggested she choose something else off the menu of equal value to the McNuggets, and offered the restaurant's cheeseburger called the McDouble.

"She's trying to force me to eat something off the menu and I don't want it," Goodman told 911.

The first dispatcher, a woman, asks if there's a manager there, but listens to Goodman's complaints and says she's sending someone.

The second, male dispatcher tells her he's aware of the incident and "we've got an officer coming out there to talk to you."

Police say Goodman was cited on a misuse of 911 charge. A current phone listing for Goodman couldn't be found.

A McDonald's spokesman said Goodman should have been given a refund, and she's being sent a gift card for a free meal.

Quick planning update

My fiance and I spent Christmas in Oklahoma with our families. After a few days he went back home and I stayed for a couple of weeks to cram in as much wedding planning as I could with my mom and sister. So far everything is going great, which is good because everyone says it will get stressful as we get closer to the big day.
