Another wedding update

I'm back in Oklahoma cramming as much wedding stuff as I can. It's been a busy few days. When I was up here last during Christmas I booked a fabulous venue and found THE dress so the two biggest things are taken care of. Scratch that, finding the groom was the biggest thing. :)

My mom and I have been running all over Tulsa. We have bought stuff for the centerpieces, my wedding jewelry, and something I HAD to have for the cake table (it's a secret). We are about to place orders online for the flowers, favors, and bubble wand thingies for our departure. We have also scouted out several things that we are going to be buying in the next couple of days. Within a week we are going to be printing up our invitations that a friend made for us.

We have spent so much time planning and figuring exactly what I want and it's so cool to finally be buying them and seeing the wedding starting to come together.

The only thing about being away from home is I miss my fiance and dogs. :(

Here are pictures of them.

Update

Let's start this blog off with an update. After our Golden Retriever died I decided to take a week or two before starting up the job search again so I can spend extra time with our other two dogs. I looked online a little bit today for a job and even talked to an employment agency. I'll really hit the ground running next week.

This weekend Chris and I are going to a friend's place on the lake. We went a few weeks ago with a bunch of his coworkers and they decided to do it again this week. I can't wait!!

I entered a contest that Myspace Decision08 is doing. People submit videos and they pick the top 5 and then Myspace users vote and pick the top 2. The winners get to go to the Democrat and Republican Conventions and cover them for Myspace. View my video here.

*Just added* I just gave Katie a bath. When she stayed with my parents for 3 weeks Mom used one of her old hairbrushes on Katie and she said Katie LOVED it so she gave it to me. I just brushed her hair and she sits there so calmly and let's me brush her. Then I brushed Allie and then they were shoving each other to be the one who gets brushed. Katie is so fluffy now!!! :)

I just added some new songs to my playlist. Check them out!!

RAVE

We rented the movie Vantage Point this weekend. I was skeptical about it but within the first 5 minutes my mind changed. There wasn't a dull moment in the movie. The story is the President gets shot and the movie keeps rewinding and showing the event from other people's viewpoints. Each time you find out something new about the shooting. It was the best movie I've seen in a few months.

RANT

A friend and I went to On The Border for dinner tonight. After we ate and payed we were sitting there talking when all of a sudden something bounced off of the half wall behind me and landed in my friend's food. It was a wooden golf tee. We looked around and there was a group of about 6-7 men in their 30's-40's next to us. One of them looked at us and said, "did someone through something at you?" My friend showed him what was thrown. The guy said that he threw it. We were glaring at him and I asked my friend if she wanted to leave and she answered quickly that she did. When we got up I was still glaring and the guy said, "one of them looks p*****". I wanted to go back and say, "you darn right I'm mad!!!" When we were walking through the resturant we saw someone with a dog. A DOG IN ON THE BORDER!!! It looked like a Cocker Spaniel or something. I told my friend "I didn't realize that it was Bring Your Dog to Dinner Day or else I would have brought mine with me".

What is up with people? Some days I am naive and think that people will outgrow immaturity and then there are times like tonight with the guy throwing stuff at young women that makes me realize that once you are an immature jerk, you will always be an immature jerk.

Me and You

RAVE

I'll post again about this topic after our anniversary. This Wednesday, May 28, Chris and I will be celebrating 2 wonderful years together. It has been the best two years of my life. Here's a little background info.

We met 3 1/2 years before we started dating. I was a college freshman and he was a college senior. I met him one night at the United Campus Ministries and I developed a crush on him that night. We became quick friends and we started meeting everyday at 4:30 to do to dinner together at the cafeteria. One of my most vivid memories of us before dating was one day the first Smallville soundtrack came out (I LOVE Smallville!!). I wanted to get that soundtrack the day it came out, even though there was ice on the roads. I asked Chris to go with me because I was kinda scared about driving on the ice. I have no idea why, but I drove my SUV instead of letting him drive. We went to Wal-Mart, got the soundtrack and on the way back I was getting ready to turn into a parking spot when I started sliding on the ice. I freaked out, but I got control of the car and we arrived safely. Chris thought I was nuts for going out for a cd, but he usually thinks things I do are nuts. :)

Ok, fast forward to 2 years ago. We started dating during Memorial Day weekend. We went camping with a couple of his cousins and one of their dates. One night he insisted on roasting me a marshmellow. Well, he kept buring them or they would drop in the fire. I told him he didn't have to do that, but he was determined to. He finally got one just the way I like it. He sat down and put his arm around me. The time seemed right so I asked him if I could kiss him. He said yes and then leaned over and kissed me. We've been a couple ever since.

I still had one more year left of college and he had one more year of medical school. I went to college 2 hours from where he lived, but my parents live 30 minutes away. I went home most weekends and we hung out.

Chris and I graduated from our schools a week apart. He graduated first. I went to both of the ceremonies. I was so proud of him!! A week later I graduated from college and he came and saw me. I still had a couple of summer classes to take, so I moved back home with my parents and took one of the classes online and drove back to college twice a week for the other.

In June, Chris moved to Texas to start his intern year of residency. We were now 5 hours apart. I missed him like crazy. After a lot of talking we decided that in August after I completed my classes, I would move to Texas to be with him. It was hard to leave my family, but I figured right after finishing college would be the best time to start an adventure in my life. So I moved.

Chris had one dog, a Golden Retriever. Dolly is the love of his life. I think he would get rid of me before getting rid of Dolly. ;) Chris had been working alot and Dolly was lonely so he wanted to get her a playmate. The day after I moved down he went and bought me and Dolly a dog, a Sheltie named Katie. Well, Katie isn't as active as Chris would have like so in January we got a Collie puppy that I named Allie. Even as a small puppy she thought she could kick the butt of an 80 lb. dog!! Poor Allie, she tries and tries.

After being in Texas a couple of months I got a job at a law firm. 4 months later I quit due to lots of things happening and then a comment that was made to me by a coworker (not going to go into specifics here). I got a new job 3 weeks ago and I really like it. Chris has been working like crazy since this is his intern year of residency. His second year starts in 5 weeks and he won't be working near as much. We won't be spending our anniversary together because Chris is working. :(

I have ordered Chris something cool online and it will be delivered this week. I've also got a couple of tricks up my sleeve. ;) I'll post more after the anniversay.

Here are some pics.

Update to come later.
RANT

My cell phone has quit working. When I try to call someone or someone calls me, the phone sounds dead. The person on the other line can hear everything I say, but I can't hear them. Since my contract ends in December, my parent sent me my Go Phone that I used in college. If you put your SIM card in it, it works fine. I can't use my cool ringtones that I had downloaded and I even made a couple of awesome ringtones that I can't use.

Sisters and dogs rule :)

RANT

My rant for today are people who try to start problems online. It's happened to me alot over the past 5 years so I'm used to immature people who have no life. Now someone is trying to stir up trouble with my little sister over the dumbest thing. I know who it is and they had better stop. I posted on my sister's blog a couple of times about it because I'm defensive when it comes to her. NO ONE messes with my sister. Love ya, Sis!! :)

Late night posting due to sick dog :(

RANT

It's after two in the morning and my Collie is sick. She has been puking. She ate the puke, and then Katie ate the rest so I didn't have to clean up as much as I thought I was going to have to. I gave Allie a bath (that was fun!!) and then she started gagging again so I stuck her outside in the backyard. She's not liking that. She keeps hitting the back door trying to get back in. Oh the joys of having a puppy!! :)

RAVE

Let's see, what can I rave about at this time of night? I started this blog to rant about Allie.

That 70's Show is cool. I have the first 4 seasons on dvd. I've been watching a lot of it the past 2 days. So, my rave is about That 70's Show. I know this was boring, but it's late and I'm likely to be up a lot later due to the dog being sick. I would leave her outside all night, but it's been raining on and off and thundering for a while.

Goodnight everyone!!

The loves of my life

RAVE

I have 3 awesome dogs in Tyler. I call them the loves of my life. Today I will be raving about my dogs.

<--That is Dolly. She is Chris's 3 1/2 year old Golden Retriever. She's a great dog. She LOVES it when people come over because she begs for attention and she usually gets it.

This is my baby, Katie. -->

She is a 4 year old Sheltie. Chris bought her for me right after I moved to Tyler. She is the sweetest thing. She follows me everywhere I go, including the bathroom. She will wait patiently outside the door for me. When I'm home alone I leave the door open and she walks in and sits right in front of me. She has the biggest brown eyes that just beg to be petted. She loves to jump on the couch or bed and snuggle up next to me. She isn't very energetic, which is great for me. She likes to go outside and bark sometimes. Chris says that she is "viciously defending the house". I don't know if I would have adjusted to Tyler as well if Chris hadn't gotten me Katie.

<--This is the latest addition to our family of dogs, Allie. She is a 16-17 week old Collie. We got her at Canton Trade Days. Chris wanted another dog that will play with Dolly, because Katie isn't really active with her. Allie is already doing her job. She wrestles all the time with Dolly. She bites her ears, fur, tail, etc. She thinks that she can take her down, even though Dolly is huge compared to her.

Here are some more pics of our dogs. I LOVE taking pics of them.

RANT

I am going to rag on Chris's dog now. Dolly passes gas really bad. She was really gassy today. All of a sudden I would get a whiff of something rank. She stepped up on the couch where she hangs out and I hear "pfftttt". I had seen online where Golden Retrievers are one of the most gassiest breeds of dogs and I'm a believer. :)
